Elderly couple with a pack of 800 dogs in their mobile homeTucson, Ariz (March 12) - A triple wide mobile home in Pima County, owned by an elderly couple, was found with about 800 small dogs of breeds including Chihuahuas, terriers, Chinese cresteds, Lhasa apsos, and Pomeranians. The couple were offering the dogs for sale, but authorities believe the couple was hoarding them.As might be expected, the house had urine and feces in all rooms including the kitchen and bedroom. The Humane Society rescued the animals. Fortunately, most of the dogs were in good condition and some were pregnant and giving birth while being removed from the house. The removal of the dogs took three days. "The home was definitely in very bad condition, urine and feces all over the home, in the kitchen, and bedroom, with a very strong odor. Obviously, 800 dogs in a triple-wide mobile home were packed in there. That being said, they were in pretty good shape." Hoarding is a behaviour in which certain people are unable to part with posessions. Some individuals aflicted with this behavior are unable to throw away trash. Some comments:
